When
Hot Octopuss asked me to review the Queen Bee, I was excited and more than a
little intrigued. Hot Octopuss makes a number of sex toys for men that look
very interesting. Since I'm not a guy, though, they kindly offered me the Queen
Bee, which is designed for women, primarily for clitoral stimulation. It could
probably also be used as a general massager, if you're so inclined. That's just
my personal opinion.
The
Queen Bee comes with a very nice pouch for storage and a charging cable that
connects to the USB port in your computer. It takes about four hours for it to
fully charge. The user manual also states that the Queen Bee is 100% waterproof,
so you can use it in the shower or bath. I don't usually masturbate in the
shower, so I haven't tested this feature.
There
is nothing subtle about the Queen Bee. Although it is definitely smaller and
more compact than some personal massagers, it is fairly large and weighty for a
sex toy. Still, when I made a demo video to show the Queen Bee in action, I was
enthusiastic about its potential and eager to try it out. You can watch the demo
below. Don't get too excited! It's PG-13.
As
you may have noticed in the video, the Queen Bee is very loud. I actually turned
it on, set it on my bed, and then went outside my bedroom. Even through the
closed door, I could hear the buzzing—not as loud as being in the room with it,
but still noticeable. So, if you need to be quiet, I wouldn't recommend the
Queen Bee.
The
Queen Bee's claim to fame is the pulse plate on the front side. That's where
the most intense vibrations are concentrated. You can also use the back side as
a gentle warm up before exploring the Queen Bee's more stimulating features.
There are six different vibrating modes and you can increase or decrease the
intensity of each by several degrees.
As I
mentioned in another adult product review, I find it almost impossible to concentrate
on reading while I'm using a sex toy. Therefore, when it came time to give the
Queen Bee a try, I cued up one of my favorite porn sites and watched some extremely
filthy videos of the dirty daddy and naughty babysitter variety. If you're curious
about what porn I find hot, you can click here, here, and here.
The
Queen Bee produced really lovely sensations, but I had some difficulty getting
the right angle and pressure to bring myself to orgasm. If your labia are thin and/or
your clitoris is close to the surface, you may have an easier time of it. For
me, the Queen Bee was a little wide to get the proper contact. I really needed
something narrower and more curved.
Being
the tenacious person that I am, though, I didn't want to give up on the Queen
Bee. I decided to try using it a different way. Instead of laying back with my
legs spread, I tried sitting on the pulse plate with it situated between my
labia. That way, I was able to rock on it and bounce a bit to get the contact I
craved. This had the added benefit of the mattress muting the Queen Bee.
I
found the second and fifth vibrating modes the most enjoyable. However, it was
the steady buzzing of the first mode at its highest speed that finally pushed
me over the edge. To be honest, I could've gotten myself off faster with just
my fingers, but not nearly as hard. My orgasm was so intense I felt it for a
while afterwards.
Another
thing I should mention is that while the controls are embossed, they were difficult
to manage by touch alone. They light up while the Queen Bee is on, but it's
rather impractical to stop midstream to look at the controls. That kind of
ruins the flow. Eventually, I managed to figure it out, but the buttons could
be made a little easier to distinguish.
Overall,
while the Queen Bee was ultimately highly enjoyable, I don't think it'll become
my go-to toy. It might be fabulous for some body types, but not all. Also, the
loudness factor and the difficulty with the controls were less than ideal as far
as I'm concerned. However, the Queen Bee is versatile and powerful, so I'm giving
it a 7 out of 10.
